Proverbs 15:28-32
[28] The mind of the righteous ponders how to answer,
but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things.
[29] The LORD is far from the wicked,
but he hears the prayer of the righteous.
[30] The light of the eyes rejoices the heart,
and good news refreshes the bones.
[31] He whose ear heeds wholesome admonition
will abide among the wise.
[32] He who ignores instruction despises himself,
but he who heeds admonition gains understanding.
Joel 2:12-13
[12] “Yet even now,” says the LORD,
“return to me with all your heart,
with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning;
[13] and rend your hearts and not your garments.”
Return to the LORD, your God,
for he is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love,
and repents of evil.
I Timothy 1:12-17
[12] I thank him who has given me strength for this, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he judged me faithful by appointing me to his service,
[13] though I formerly blasphemed and persecuted and insulted him; but I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief,
[14] and the grace of our Lord overflowed for me with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.
[15] The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. And I am the foremost of sinners;
[16] but I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience for an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life.
[17] To the King of ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Matthew 27:50-61
[50] And Jesus cried again with a loud voice and yielded up his spirit.
[51] And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom; and the earth shook, and the rocks were split;
[52] the tombs also were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised,
[53] and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many.
[54] When the centurion and those who were with him, keeping watch over Jesus, saw the earthquake and what took place, they were filled with awe, and said, “Truly this was the Son of God!”
[55] There were also many women there, looking on from afar, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering to him;
[56] among whom were Mary Mag’dalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of the sons of Zeb’edee.
[57] When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathe’a, named Joseph, who also was a disciple of Jesus.
[58] He went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate ordered it to be given to him.
[59] And Joseph took the body, and wrapped it in a clean linen shroud,
[60] and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn in the rock; and he rolled a great stone to the door of the tomb, and departed.
[61] Mary Mag’dalene and the other Mary were there, sitting opposite the sepulchre.
