II Corinthians 6:1-10
John 16:1-4
Wisdom 6:11-21
[11] Therefore set your desire on my words;
long for them, and you will be instructed.
[12] Wisdom is radiant and unfading,
and she is easily discerned by those who love her,
and is found by those who seek her.
[13] She hastens to make herself known to those who desire her.
[14] He who rises early to seek her will have no difficulty,
for he will find her sitting at his gates.
[15] To fix one’s thought on her is perfect understanding,
and he who is vigilant on her account will
soon be free from care,
[16] because she goes about seeking those worthy of her,
and she graciously appears to them in their paths,
and meets them in every thought.
[17] The beginning of wisdom is the most sincere
desire for instruction,
and concern for instruction is love of her,
[18] and love of her is the keeping of her laws,
and giving heed to her laws is assurance of immortality,
[19] and immortality brings one near to God;
[20] so the desire for wisdom leads to a kingdom.
[21] Therefore if you delight in thrones and scepters,
O monarchs over the peoples,
honor wisdom, that you may reign for ever.
II Corinthians 6:1-10
[1] Working together with him, then, we entreat you not to accept the grace of God in vain.
[2] For he says, “At the acceptable time I have listened to you,
and helped you on the day of salvation.”
Behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
[3] We put no obstacle in any one’s way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry,
[4] but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: through great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities,
[5] beatings, imprisonments, tumults, labors, watching, hunger;
[6] by purity, knowledge, forbearance, kindness, the Holy Spirit, genuine love,
[7] truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left;
[8] in honor and dishonor, in ill repute and good repute. We are treated as impostors, and yet are true;
[9] as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold we live; as punished, and yet not killed;
[10] as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing everything.
John 16:1-4
[1] “I have said all this to you to keep you from falling away.
[2] They will put you out of the synagogues; indeed, the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God.
[3] And they will do this because they have not known the Father, nor me.
[4] But I have said these things to you, that when their hour comes you may remember that I told you of them. “I did not say these things to you from the beginning, because I was with you.
