St. Severian of Sebastia,
St. Babylas of Nicomedia and the 84 children martyrs

Proverbs 15:28-32
Isaiah 66:18-21
I John 2:7-11
John 16:1-4

Proverbs 15:28-32

[28] The mind of the righteous ponders how to answer,
but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things.
[29] The LORD is far from the wicked,
but he hears the prayer of the righteous.
[30] The light of the eyes rejoices the heart,
and good news refreshes the bones.
[31] He whose ear heeds wholesome admonition
will abide among the wise.
[32] He who ignores instruction despises himself,
but he who heeds admonition gains understanding.

Isaiah 66:18-21

[18] “For I know their works and their thoughts, and I am coming to gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come and shall see my glory,
[19] and I will set a sign among them. And from them I will send survivors to the nations, to Tarshish, Put, and Lud, who draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to the coastlands afar off, that have not heard my fame or seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the nations.
[20] And they shall bring all your brethren from all the nations as an offering to the LORD, upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon dromedaries, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, says the LORD, just as the Israelites bring their cereal offering in a clean vessel to the house of the LORD.
[21] And some of them also I will take for priests and for Levites, says the LORD.

I John 2:7-11

[7] Beloved, I am writing you no new commandment, but an old commandment which you had from the beginning; the old commandment is the word which you have heard.
[8] Yet I am writing you a new commandment, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.
[9] He who says he is in the light and hates his brother is in the darkness still.
[10] He who loves his brother abides in the light, and in it there is no cause for stumbling.
[11] But he who hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

John 16:1-4

[1] “I have said all this to you to keep you from falling away.
[2] They will put you out of the synagogues; indeed, the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God.
[3] And they will do this because they have not known the Father, nor me.
[4] But I have said these things to you, that when their hour comes you may remember that I told you of them. “I did not say these things to you from the beginning, because I was with you.
