Luke 6:20-23
Proverbs 23:15-25
[15] My son, if your heart is wise,
my heart too will be glad.
[16] My soul will rejoice
when your lips speak what is right.
[17] Let not your heart envy sinners,
but continue in the fear of the LORD all the day.
[18] Surely there is a future,
and your hope will not be cut off.
[19] Hear, my son, and be wise,
and direct your mind in the way.
[20] Be not among winebibbers,
or among gluttonous eaters of meat;
[21] for the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty,
and drowsiness will clothe a man with rags.
[22] Hearken to your father who begot you,
and do not despise your mother when she is old.
[23] Buy truth, and do not sell it;
buy wisdom, instruction, and understanding.
[24] The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice;
he who begets a wise son will be glad in him.
[25] Let your father and mother be glad,
let her who bore you rejoice.
Hosea 14:6-7
[6] his shoots shall spread out;
his beauty shall be like the olive,
and his fragrance like Lebanon.
[7] They shall return and dwell beneath my shadow,
they shall flourish as a garden;
they shall blossom as the vine,
their fragrance shall be like the wine of Lebanon.
II Corinthians 6:16-7:1
[16] What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will live in them and move among them,
and I will be their God,
and they shall be my people.
[17] Therefore come out from them,
and be separate from them, says the Lord,
and touch nothing unclean;
then I will welcome you,
[18] and I will be a father to you,
and you shall be my sons and daughters,
says the Lord Almighty.”
Chapter 7
[1] Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, and make holiness perfect in the fear of God.
Luke 6:20-23
[20] And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said: “Blessed are you poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.
[21] “Blessed are you that hunger now, for you shall be satisfied. “Blessed are you that weep now, for you shall laugh.
[22] “Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude you and revile you, and cast out your name as evil, on account of the Son of man!
[23] Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for so their fathers did to the prophets.
