Elise Antreassian received her M.Div. from Union Theological Seminary/St. Nersess and M Phil in Armenian Studies from Columbia. She has been Director of Christian Education since 1980 in which capacity she conducts parish retreats and seminars; oversees Sunday School curriculum and teacher education; and publishes resources on Armenian Church history, doctrine, and spirituality. She served for many years on the Education and Leadership Commission of the National Council of Churches.
Elise is Sunday School Co-Superintendent at the Armenian Church of the Holy Martyrs in Bayside, NY. She is married to Papken Bayizian and they are blessed with three children, Aris, Vahan, and Kohar, a son-in-law, and two grandchildren. She loves reading (especially her hero Shakespeare), theater, and art, in all of which she feels God’s soaring presence.
