Fr. Mesrop Parsamyan

Director of Ministries

Rev. Fr. Mesrop Parsamyan is currently the Director of Ministries at the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of America, a position he assumed in October 2017.

Fr. Mesrop Parsamyan has a very distinguished background as a scholar, pastor, and church leader. A native of Armenia, he is a member of the Brotherhood of Holy Etchmiadzin, who was ordained to the priesthood in 2003, and was staff-bearer to the Catholicos of All Armenians, His Holiness Karekin II. He subsequently served as professor of Christian Ethics at Etchmiadzin’s Kevorkian Theological Seminary, and also as deputy-chancellor of the Mother See.

He served pastorally in Belgium and France before being appointed locum tenens of the Diocese of Switzerland. From 2012 to 2014, he served in France again as vicar general of the Diocese of Marseille, and later locum tenens of the Diocese of Paris.

In 2015 Fr. Mesrop Parsamyan came to the United States and has been serving as pastor of the Holy Shoghagat Church of Belleville, IL until 2017.
