Gilda Buchakjian Kupelian
As director of the Armenian Studies department, Gilda Buchakjian Kupelian’s purview includes developing Armenian language, and cultural resources; organizing pedagogical seminars, as well as heritage enrichment initiatives for schools and parishes. Resources such as Practical Heritage Dictionary and Let’s Speak Armenian are tailored for learners of all ages.
After immigrating to the United States from her native Beirut, with a Bachelor’s degree in English, and certification in teaching ESL, Gilda earned her Master’s degree in Education Administration while serving as director of Armenian Education at the Eastern Prelacy. She has taught at the William Paterson University Continuing Education Department, NJ, and now serves remotely as adjunct faculty at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, CA.
Gilda enjoys the fine and performing arts, is passionate about languages, and loves to travel. She has three daughters.
