Եւ եղեւ Լոյս: Տէրը ստեղծեց լոյսը, տեսաւ որ լոյսը բարի է, եւ լուսաւորեց աշխարհը:
Ինչպէս գիտենք, երբ Ս. Գրիգոր սկսաւ Քրիստոնէութիւնը տարածել լուսաւորելու համար հայոց աշխարհը, զինք անուանեցինք Լուսաւորիչ: Իսկ 12-րդ դարու բոլորիս ծանօթ` Ս. Ներսէս Շնորհալիի Առաւօտ Լուսոյ շարականը, տպաւորիչ օրինակ մըն է հայ եկեղեցւոյ ծէսէն ուր կը շարունակենք զԱստուած փառաբանել:
Երբ առաւօտուն Բարի Լոյս-ով կ’ողջունենք անձ մը, մեր գոհաբանութիւնն է որ կ’ուղղենք Աստուծոյ: Աչքդ Լոյս գեղեցիկ մաղթանքով կը շնորհաւորենք հարազատի մը, կամ բարեկամի մը յաջողութիւնը, պսակը, մանուկի մը ծնունդը կամ մկրտութիւնը, եւ այլ բախտաւորութիւններ: Երբ անձ մը մութ սենեակի մէջ է, ելեկտրական լոյսը բանալով կ’ըսենք Լոյսի մէջ մնաս, որպէսզի անձը խաւարի մէջ չմնայ: Այս օրինակներով կրկին կ’անդրադառնանք թէ ինչպէս Լոյս բառի գործածութիւնը Տիրոջ ստեղծած լոյսին հզորութիւնը կը ցոլացնէ մեր կեանքերէն ներս:
Let there be light! The Lord created Light and he saw that the light was good. And he separated the light from the darkness. St. Gregory was named the Illuminator, the Enlightener, for bringing the light of Christianity to Armenians. 12th century hymn, Առաւօտ Լուսոյ Aravod luso, literal translation “Morning of the Light” by St. Nerses Shnorhali, is one of the most beloved in the Armenian liturgy where we extol the glory of God.
In these few examples, we realize the potency of the Light He created in our lives, when we say good morning Բարի Լոյս, pari luys; as we offer congratulations on blissful occasions with Աչքդ Լոյս, achkut luys (may your eyes be filled with light); and when we put the lights on for someone who is in a dark room and say Լոյսի մէջ մնաս, luysi metch mnas (may you be in light).
